I became a follower of Christ in the ’70’s after reading The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsay. Literally millions bought and read his book and felt that the Bible’s foretelling of a seven-year period of global tribulation, followed by the return of Jesus Christ, was going to take place within the next 10 or 15 years – primarily because Israel was approaching it’s fortieth year of existence – and forty (possibly indicating a complete generation) was looked at as a strong possible indicator of Christ’s soon return.

But after Israel’s 40th birthday came and went folks began to recognize that although we were living close to Christ’s return, we we’re not as close as we originally thought. That all caused most believers and Bible teachers to put end times studies on the shelf – that is – until the turn of the century, when the turning of the millennium created a renewed sense of expectation.

But way beyond the year 2000’s impact, the many national and global developments that have been rocking our world these past handful of years have gotten Christ’s return center-focus once again.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A FEW DECADES CAN MAKE!

Many things we expected to happen in the 80’s and 90’s are now upon us. The explosion of technological advances, along with globalization over the past few decades has catapulted the world into a global village with security issues now requiring a monitoring of all humanity on a level once only known to science fiction.

The growing global angst against Israel, a proliferation of highly destructive weapons, and the prospect of radical Islam possessing nuclear devices, is another indication of our world coming closer to a final showdown.

Add to that a growing, global intolerance of Christianity, largely fed by the rise and normalization of hedonism, sexual promiscuity and perversion.

And finally, there’s the fully ripened reality of a politically and economically united Europe – ready and waiting to fulfill the description of what the book of Daniel foresaw as the final, though very short-lived world dominating empire – to be led by a charismatic leader called the Antichrist.

 WHETHER YOU’RE A BELIEVER OR A SKEPTIC

I’m hopeful that the links I’ve provided on this site will at the very least provoke you, your family members and your friends to prayerfulness and vigilant, watchful hearts at the prospect of the return of our Lord. The links included on this site are not date setting, but they are helpful in seeing just how close we may be.

Last but not least, make very sure you continue to get the message of Christ and His return to as many people as possible – through personal witness and by supporting ministries planting churches among every people group. Don’t be deceived and foolishly waist the remaining opportunities you have to “work while it is still day”.
